Always satisfied when I shop there. I always go there when I shop for any kind of electronics because they are very knowledgeable and I am very comfortable with the information they give me.

My in-store experience today was a stunning example of poor customer service provided by people who have no pride in their jobs. The reason for my visit was mostly for information gathering regarding projector options for a house I am building. I tried explaining to the Best Buy representative that I was not looking for a home theater set up, but that I was trying to replace a large TV in my future house to free up floor space in front of windows. I thought an option could be to have a projector with retractable screen in a fairly small living room. The representative, who’s name I believe was Natalie, immediately said “what type of ‘brain’ are you looking at getting” in a snide way. Cool. Lingo. I, honestly knowing nothing about projectors, asked, “do you have to get one of these ‘brains’? We are just trying to hook it up to an Apple TV.” She said, “most of them don’t have any connections on them. Some have a headphone jack”. I was going to ask, which ones have a headphone jack, but she quickly cut me off saying, “if you are wanting to do that it will cost $10000-$30000 minimum. It can be up to $100000” Then in a condescending way said “what do you think your budget is going to be?” with a chuckle. I again tried to explain that we were just looking at options and that we are not trying to build a home theater. “Do you even have adjustable lighting?” No. Again, I have no house yet. She then hurried us to a side room where she started showing us standing speakers, receivers, subwoofers, retractable screens, vocal speakers and said “you will need all of this”. Do we? Really? My tv at home has no giant $500 standing speakers and it works fine. A speaker - yes - I get it. It will need speakers but subwoofers? It was odd. I’ve had employees try to sell me things before, but I’ve not had someone act like it was such a pain to answer 5 minutes worth of questions that it wasn’t worth their time. I also, calculating the amounts of things she suggested, couldn’t come up with $10000-$30000 worth of things that I would need. Was she trying to talk me out of a sale? Was she being condescending, because she thought I couldn’t afford it? Was she judging me based on my clothes? Or was she being rude because I did not know anything about projectors? After getting home and doing research on the products, it actually is possible to substitute a projector pretty easily for a TV if you buy the appropriate one. I’ll probably buy one online, but I know I will not buy anything from this store. It is sad when a business can’t keep their employees professional.

Hi Mark, Thank you for reviewing your experience shopping for projectors in our Nashville store. I know how frustrating it can be when you don't feel like a valued customer when you shop. At Best Buy, our number one goal is to find the best tech solutions to enrich our customers' lives. While we want to provide expert service, we should never come off as pushy or condescending. If you ever feel that you are not being treated respectfully when you shop with us, please speak with a store leader so we can address your concerns immediately. One thing I would like to recommend as you build your home is our free In-Home Consultation service. With this service, one of our In-Home Advisors can be there for you throughout your build to help ensure you find the best solution for your home needs. If you would like to learn more about this free service, you can visit www.BestBuy.com/inhomeconsultation. If you’d like to discuss this program or your concerns further, please email me at ReviewSupport@bestbuy.com. Again, we appreciate your feedback about your visit and will work to ensure that we show up better for our customers going forward. -Josh Best Buy Support

Great place. Manager opened up the car center to help me out after it had closed. Took time and worked with me to pinpoint the thing's that I needed. I couldn't have asked for anything else with the phenomenal service he gave...
